UX Designer - Chichester

If you care about great UX as much as we do, we'd love to hear from you.

About D3R

We're an employee-owned digital agency in Chichester, West Sussex. We design and build bespoke websites and business systems that help ambitious brands grow, with particular expertise in e-commerce, travel and hospitality. Our clients include Loaf, Monica Vinader, Allianz (Twickenham) Stadium and Soho Home. Many of those relationships began with a single project and have grown into multi-year partnerships over time.

We're large enough to handle serious complexity but small enough to stay close to our clients, and everyone's contribution is visible and valued. As we enter the next phase of our own growth journey, we're looking for talented people to help shape what comes next.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for an experienced UX designer to join our established design team. You'll be someone who loves solving problems, understanding people, and turning insights into experiences that work, both for users and for our clients' businesses. You'll dig into complex challenges, find out what's really getting in users' way, and design solutions that make a measurable difference.

You'll work closely with our clients, sharing your thinking and helping them make confident, evidence-based decisions. One day you might be running user interviews or reviewing analytics; the next, contributing to a discovery workshop or walking a client through your recommendations. Your work may span remote collaboration, on-site visits with clients, and teamwork in our Chichester office. There's real scope to grow with us, broaden your influence and help shape how we approach UX as D3R continues to evolve.

What you'll do

  • Plan and run research, including interviews, usability testing, surveys, and analytics and behavioural data reviews.
  • Turn insights into user flows, information architecture, wireframes and prototypes.
  • Share your work with clients and colleagues, explaining the thinking behind your design decisions and making the case for the user.
  • Help plan and facilitate discovery, ideation and prioritisation workshops that bring people together.
  • Design experiences that improve conversion, engagement and loyalty, based on what success looks like for each client.
  • Work closely with UI, UX, development, CRO and project management colleagues so great ideas become great outcomes.
  • Validate ideas early and often, using feedback, test results and data to keep improving.
  • Share best practice and contribute to how we work and continuously improve as a design team
  • Stay in touch with new developments in the industry that will help us remain at the forefront of digital innovation.

About you

You're curious about why people behave the way they do, and you prefer evidence to assumptions. You're a clear communicator who enjoys working with clients and colleagues, and you can explain your ideas in a way that builds trust and brings people with you. You understand how digital products, especially e-commerce, create value, and you design with business outcomes in mind. You take ownership, show initiative, and give and receive feedback generously. You're proficient in Figma, Miro and modern prototyping and research tools, and you keep up with new techniques, including emerging AI-powered approaches.

Essential

  • 4+ years in a UX role within an agency, consultancy or in-house team.
  • A portfolio showing your process from research and insight through to design solutions and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders and presenting your work.
  • A strong understanding of user-centred design, usability and accessibility best practice (WCAG).

Desirable

  • Experience designing for e-commerce or retail brands.
  • Agency experience across multiple clients and sectors.
  • Experience leading workshops or presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • UI awareness, with an eye for visual detail and what good looks like.
  • Familiarity with analytics and behavioural tools such as GA4, Hotjar or Contentsquare.
